Project CSR mean Project for Community, School and Roads. These are the three main areas where Encomas would like to focus on especially in area where we have our project development. As a medium size property development and a third generation construction company, we strongly feel that we could use our expertise in the field of civil engineering and sales and marketing to promote corporate social responsibility.

Objectives of Project CSR

The objective of Project CSR is to create a harmonious community in our project development. We developed the first gated and guarded community in Alor Setar called Villa Seri Tunku. In others projects we always donate money or resources to the residential community that we had developed to improve relationship and security among the residents. Our biggest effort in year 2010 would be to build a surau and community area for the residents at Anak Bukit, Kedah where we have ongoing residential project in the area.

Every year we donate certain budget as well as our own time and resources to local schools, especially in school where we have project in that area. We also donate certain budget to Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah for their various programmers in Kedah state. Besides, we also sponsor school activities that promote art and racial unity. Our biggest accomplishment in year 2010 would be to sponsor the Northern Kedah Art and Calligraphy Competition 2010. Some 600 students from various school and background participated in the events and we decided to sponsor the events again this year.

Roads in here mean building basic infrastructure that include roads, drainage, water piping, playground, landscape and others in the community that we have development. We also donated additional land in our development for hawker centre and community purposes. Although our responsibility as a property developer end at the boundary of our project but we never stop there. We always engage click here and participate in whatever activities that we are invited regardless of good time or bad.

One of the Project CSR that worth mentioning was the monetary donation and assistance for the mini twister victims in Taman Seri Lanchang in Jelawi, Perlis. We were told we acted faster than the government to help the victim. We are honored to hear that and we had received a lot of publicity for that.

Our goal in Project CSR is to create a safe and harmonious community in all the projects that we had developed and that indirectly create value to the community. Enhancing the property value in the community that we had developed would make us a responsible developer that cares for our customers and our community. That in fact would bring more business to Encomas in which part of the profit would go to Project CSR. It is an ongoing process and it is a win win situation for Encomas, our customer, our stakeholders and the community as a whole. Project CSR has to be sustainable in order to be able to continue forward.

Project CSR ranges from purely donation to man power and expertise and a combination of both. Some of the project would need our expertise in the construction and engineering skill where else some project might require our experience in marketing and sales. Some might only require one day’s job. Some might require months of planning and strategizing. Some might just need a very small financial aid and we let our partners run the program. Most of the time it involve top down management participation and we all love to do that and we all are honored to be able to do that.
